Here is a beautiful coffee table book called American Art Deco by Eva Weber and published by World Publications, 2004. It has 90 full color and 8 black and white illustrations. The front cover features the Elevator Door in the NYC Chrysler Building. The back cover is a bronze by Corrine Weinberg entitled Zelda from her flapper collection. It covers Architecture from Miami Beach Hotels to Streamline Style Diners to Frank Lloyd Wright and Eliel Saarinen. It covers Furniture and Design from the Powder Room at Radio City Music Hall to Wright and Saarinen to screens by Deskey and Baskerville to wall hangings and textiles. It features the Visual Arts from Deco posters to bronzes to paintings and beautiful glass from Steuben and Carder to ceramics from Noritake and Fiesta.
Über die Autorin
Eva Weber, a Canadian living in the United States, is a graduate of Vassar College and received a master degree in art history from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Since 1975 she has directed a varied program of changing exhibitions at the Hampshire College Art Gallery in Amherst. She is the author of Art Deco in America (1985) ans Art Deco (1989) and has contributed as a researcher and writer to numerous exhibition catalogues, and to books on architecture, archaeology and American and twentieth-century history.
